LATE NINETEENTH CENTURY RACE

I was offered this amazing late nineteenth century
New Hudson racer lately.
Unfortunately it was a bit out of my price range at the moment.
But here are some photos for you to view, and for me to feel a little sad about.

Skip tooth (inch pitch) chain set
The plunger type brake, looks cool but is probably a little
scarey to use for actual stopping purposes.
I forgot to photograph the other side of the rear wheel,
which had a bar attached to the axle, to assist getting up onto
the tall frame.
This. I assume, is a hang over from the high wheelers.
