MOULTON

I picked up this interesting Moulton last year, and
am finally getting around to giving it a
restore.

I am unsure what model it is, it is in a very original
and unmolested condition in my opinion.
The Components on the bike are;
Milremo (steel) cranks
Milremo alloy rims/hubs
TA Chainring
Simplex derailleur/shifter
GB Courier brakes/stem
Brooks B17
Alloy guards

On it's way to a full restoration.

Any information on what model this might be
would be greatly appreciated.

  1. I think it's a Mark 2 Standard or DeLuxe frame fitted with a SpeedSix crank/chainwheel and an attempt to fit derailleur gears, but not the way Moulton did it. However, if you fit drop bars and 17" rims it'll fool a lot of people into thinking it's an official model.

Posing the question of identity at https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/moultonbicycle/info will get answers from the real experts.

  2. It may be a Moulton Safari.

They still make bikes, here is their website

  4. That's a Moulton stowaway... see the joint seam. Has upgraded period components. Nice!

  5. Nope, not a safari, or a standard, or deluxe. It's a stowaway. See the joint seam? Has very nice period upgrades too. Some could be from a speedsix... like the mudguards, and Milremo club 555 cranks. Not sure the chainring is a 60t though... looks smaller. neat bike!

  6. Yes this bike is a stowaway with some parts different from an original stowaway.
